During World War II, an American pilot and a marooned Japanese navy captain are deserted on a small uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean. There, they must cease their hostility and cooperate if they want to survive, but will they?

over the disturbing images in the Life magazine they stood up and just as the Japanese soldier turned to face the American after he'd kicked over the firepot, a bomb dropped on the building they were in. You could hear the distant sound of bombs being dropped up to this moment. Never saw this version. Don't understand why it was changed.
